Photo Books - A New Concept Album
October 16, 2017
Since the day I came back from Singapore, I tried buying and designing my very first photo book. Right now, I can say I am addicted to photo books and honestly, this is an awesome alternative to enjoy our memories. I always prefer physical albums actually. Just, for the printing part, fuhh I need to calm down to know the price.
![]() |
5 photo books so far, few more coming soon :D |
But now, I don't need to worry much! With the TOTAL cost of approximately RM10 +-, I can get this!
6" x 6" Mini Square Softcover Photobook with 40 pages
My parents obviously love this approach to our photos together. Easier to hold, sharp images and not sure why but there is a beautiful feeling every time I see the photo books. ;)

This is how it looks like inside. You have the freedom to organize the photos. |
So, wanna grab yours?
I will share in the next post on how to get photo books for yourselves :)
Will post it as soon as possible.
p/s - Just sharing stuffs that I love <3
p/s/s - Thanks Siqah for the flat lays tutorial :D hehe

My First Cross Stitch Project
October 15, 2017
Wohooo.
Alhamdulillah, finally I managed to finish this! It took few days if I really commit the whole day but since I still have lots of other stuffs to do, I am satisfied enough with few weeks :D
I've shared on Twitter about the progress. A thing I was looking forward to is to learn something a girl would have to know. I've been growing up with the idea of being strong, being capable to anything involving energy, being independent... when now I realized there are so many feminine stuffs that I should let myself experience - cooking properly, sewing, stitching, designing.
Creativity.
Yes, that's the word.

Just few minutes doing it, I told myself, this is totally something different! Throughout the process, I kept on questioning myself, "Kenapalah aku buat benda ni? Cabut rumput kat luar rumah lagi menarik."
Mak kept on motivating me, "This is supposed to be for fun. Janganlah stress sangat nak cepat siap. It needs your continuous commitment."
Patience.
Another thing I learned.
Well, most things involve patience. Maybe I am getting used to what I used to do, patience is not something I worry about. Really, when we challenge ourselves out of our comfort zone, the feeling is different. The patience is challenged in a totally different way - but still, it is about patience.
Be patient, Nina. :)
p/s - my SPA updated that my application passed the requirements. So, housemanship is just around the corner, maybe? May Allah ease, ameen.

Get The Blues!
October 11, 2017
Baru-baru ni, saya follow akaun twitter WHO (World Health Organisation) dan dah jadi salah satu favourite saya. Boleh katakan setiap hari, WHO akan share hari-hari yang diraikan. How should I explain this.... hmmm, lebih kurang macam Hari XXX Sedunia macam tu.
Dan hari ni, 11 Oktober 2017 ialah...
Hari Obesiti Sedunia.
[Photos] Curry Palace in Prague, Czech
October 10, 2017
No, it is not a real palace but a restaurant. :)
13th July 2017
Curry Palace, Prague, Czech
It was my first time there with parents after my graduation day - an Indian & Bangladeshi restaurant, suggested by my friend, studying in Prague.
Curry Palace
Yes, they served halal food (beef, chicken, mutton etc) but don't be surprised to see 'alcohol' in the menu for drinks. I can say 98% restaurants in Czech served alcoholic drinks (even the one that serve halal food). It is different than in Malaysia where we have so many other choices of restaurants.
Just, order non-alcoholic drinks and say that you don't want any alcohol (best way is to say you are allergic) in the food either.

Review:
- Authentic taste of Indian food, simply delicious and suitable to our Asian tongue :)
- The food price is actually fair enough for large portions of food! We even take away left over food (like briyani and tandoori). Just if you think you can't finish the whole portion, simply share with friends or take away. Take away box is charged, so maybe you can save on that by bringing your own small food plastic container.
- Careful of the hotness of the food - like Phall and Jalfrasie dishes.
- There are many vegetarian dishes to choose if you would like to.
- Mineral water is obviously expensive. Bring your own water. 1L mineral water only cost 15kc in Tesco.
- Or maybe you can try mango lassi - a trademark of Indian restaurants there.
- Clean dining area, clean toilets.
- Excellent, friendly service and staffs. They even offer us any praying mat when we told them if it is possible to pray there. No prayer room but we just pray at the table, not many people around at that time.
- On the maps, the nearest tram stops are Letenské náměstí and Korunova?ní. We went there by Uber anyway, directly in front of the restaurant.
It was like a feast for the three of us. :D |

Gantung:2 - a book I can't wait to get my hands on!
It is a sequel of Gantung (I posted a review errrr maybe more to lessons learned from the book). Generally, the author managed to answer most questions that the readers were left with after Gantung. :)
front cover |
Title: Gantung:2
Author: Nadia Khan
Pages: 284
Publisher: Buku Fixi
Publication Date: 2017
Just so you know, this book is 4 years after the first one had been released. I am totally glad that I read Gantung just few weeks ago when Gantung:2 is already available. It is hard to move on within that 4 years to know more about the plot. -_-'
I am not sure if I should write the rough synopsis as it will obviously contain spoilers for the first book. :) Anyway, the things or lessons learned that I am going to write here will have spoilers as well, maybe.
Read at your own risk. If you haven't read Gantung, feel free to skip this post and read that first ahaha then come again and share your thoughts okay? Otherwise, it is up to you :)
back cover |
Synopsis:
After Ray made a stage performance so that Gibbs and KJ realized they were no longer living a normal life, both of them follow Ray to stay together. Ray can actually 'see' them! He is now better known as Khalil (after he turns to Islam). He actually went to Prague and studied films after he finished school.
- The school incident happened in 2011.
- Ray returned to the school (as in Gantung) in 2021.
- Scenes in Gantung:2 mostly take place in 2023.
If Gantung portrays more scenes at school, this one is more about Ray's life after all the incidents that happened to them. Ray is currently a well-known film director and his first artwork managed to win an award. There are few new characters and some characters from Gantung are not in this book as well. KJ, Gibbs and 'Troll' are in the novel, of course.
Ray/Khalil is kidnapped by a guy whose identity is only known towards end of the novel. Read the book to know why he is kidnapped, who is the guy actually, what happen to both of them, how Gibbs KJ Troll play roles in this incident, what happen to Fara (Gibbs' lover) and eventually you will understand more on what actually happened in Gantung.
I mean, the timeline finally makes sense :)
------------------------------------------
Now, I will proceed with what I learned from Gantung:2.
1. Free sex & LGBT and their consequences.
Most Nadia Khan's books have these elements, I am not sure her main reason to use them but they really portrays the bitter reality in our world today. Just like I shared in my review of Gantung, some people use them to have sort of life enjoyment, attract attention and some need it to survive or to threaten to survive.
On the front page of this book, it mentioned 'untuk pembaca matang' (for matured readers) and I believed it is written there not just for fun.
I am sorry if I may sound open to touch this topic, but this is something I will encounter at least as a doctor in the future. Free sex (out of marriage) totally disturb and destroy the beautiful part of the relationship between 2 human beings. The thing that should be considered sacred is now taken for granted, without responsibilities. The thing that both of them should get 'pahala' is now done with Allah's anger.
And not to forget the sin when someone kills the baby; the product. The baby is sinless and if he /she is born to this world, it will be challenging especially with people's judgement. T_T The father cannot be a wali to the daughter and it will definitely affect the family relationship - nasab keturunan etc.
What can I say, let's keep praying Allah will always help us with guidance and protection from the evil. Being parents is not an easy job, even to find a good partner to build our own family is not easy either. Hopefully, we will always use Quran and hadith as our references to live the life in the right way. Prevention is better than cure.
2. Moving on is never easy.
People usually say that when the ruh (the souls) still linger around in this world, they may have unfinished business that stop them from moving. Well, that's what usually shown in movies or dramas too.
Can't say much about alam ghaib, I believe it exists but I hope I will always 'terhijab' from it.
Gibbs, KJ, Troll finally leave Ray, for good and never return. It is hard for Ray to move on when he is the only one from The Musketeers to survive the incident. And yes, the survivor suffers even more.
+ Forgetting them. Does it gets easier?
- No. And it will never will.
+ *sigh*
- But life gets better. If you want it to be.
Just like previous novels that I've read, the keys to move on / live the fact are... acceptance..... |
... and faith. |
3. Responsibilities.
Growing up, we as human beings need to realize we are carrying more responsibilities every day. No matter who we are, responsibilities are something we can't run away from - as a son / daughter, as a sibling, as a friend... even simply as human being.
"We are responsible for every single words that come out of our mouth - consciously or unconsciously." |
Sometimes, we can't help to keep talking and adding so many comments on some issues. A huge reminder to myself as well. Eventually, after too much talk, we tend to forget what we are talking about actually. Worst case scenario - false facts and maybe we said something bad behind someone's back - mengumpat. T_T
Think twice or multiple times before we do something. Weigh all the consequences. |
4. The fine line in between.
Worth to ponder. |
5. The differences between.
Suka vs sayang vs cinta |
------------------------------------------
Just came back from a well-spent weekend in Cheras. While waiting for my return bus to Ipoh that Sunday night, my friends and I managed to drop by MyTown shopping center. And finally I bought this book! :D Jauhnya alahai pergi beli buku punnn.

What Do You Guys Think?
October 4, 2017
It should be autumn in Czech right now T_T
Just came back from Pantai Timur (again). Haha. It feels like a third home for me, both Kelantan & Terengganu. And guess what, I am going there again before 2018 comes in. :) Wohooo.
This time, not with my parents but friends instead. I took a night bus from Amanjaya Ipoh to Hentian Bas Kota Bharu (close to Tesco). Well, I guess I am getting used to express buses in Malaysia, or maybe because I am old enough that my parents trust that I can survive the trips. Super happy when I know I can now book the bus tickets online! I know it has started for awhile. Hehe.
easybook.com is my favourite so far. I haven't try any other websites though, why should I if I don't have problems yet with this one and the price is almost similar if I buy tickets at the counter.
Going out of Perak again very soon.
I am very glad I have productive days (I hope so) so far.
Some people asked I applied any part time jobs (I mean with proper working hours). Well, I would love to but not this year. I have plans here and there till end of 2017 and hope everything will turn out well.
Oh yea, what do you guys think about Grab / Uber female drivers?
If you mind, please share your thoughts, especially about the safety precautions. I have just met one female Uber driver so far. Or maybe any of you who have been Grab / Uber drivers? Thank you in advanced!
