      [PFTW] | No. 1 & 2 | Canada & Malaysia

      February 21, 2016

      /21 Hobby

I have fun collecting postcards from where ever I go. And now I think it's time to exchange postcards with others :)

So, after I get to know Wak Tiga Lalat's blog, he introduced me to postcrossing.com. Actually, I am easily influenced by amazing stuffs like this. Go check out his blog, lots of postcards exchanged between him and the rest of world! :D

Anyway, I have already received my first postcard via postcrossing.com! :)

      [PFTW] | No. 1 & 2 | Canada & Malaysia

The first one is from Karilyn, Canada. She sent a postcard with beautiful pictures of wildlife in Canada. Her favorite are polar bears. :) I love polar bears too, but I prefer penguin over bears. Hehe

Reading this, suddenly I remembered an milk advertisement about 'polar bears do not eat penguin'. I bet we all know why :D For me, thanks to Anmum, I knew that fact from the advertisement itself.

I found some beautiful facts about them.

From what I read, we have 2 hemispheres - northern (Arctic areas) and southern (Antarctica). We can only find polar bears in the norther hemispheres while penguin in the other one :)

"Arctic" is actually a Greek word for "bear".
"Antarctica" is "the opposite of bear (ant-arctica)" which also means "opposite of the Arctic".

      [PFTW] | No. 1 & 2 | Canada & Malaysia

And this one is from Wak! :D

I always look forward for this kind of postcards. You can easily know fun facts of the country, any special occasion, famous people, suggested places to go etc etc etc.

Do you know that the world's largest roundabout is located in Putrajaya with 3.4 kilometers of length!

      WOAH!

Thank you, Karilyn & Wak. :)

      Have a nice day, guys!

      Living a Semi-Permeable Life

      February 20, 2016

      (removed / transfered from hanisnina.com)

I was doing a random quiz online on 'Where Should I Travel To Next' when I encounter a question with an answer of Julia Roberts in the movie 'Eat, Pray, Love'. I watched this movie a very long time ago, when in college. And this quiz triggered me to re-watch it.

Well, the story is basically about a woman staying in 3 places searching for 3 types of healing - via food in Italy, pray / meditation in India and being loved in Bali, Indonesia.

As I skipped the scenes a lot, suddenly I was interested on this - Permeable Membrane; about a couple who were reciting something on a stage - about love.

I disappear into the person I love. I am the permeable membrane. If I love you, you can have it all - my money, my time, my body, my dog, my dog's money. I will assume your debts. And I will project upon you all sorts of nifty qualities that you have never actually cultivated in yourself. I will give you all of this and more, until I get so exhausted and depleted that the only way I can recover is by becoming infatuated with someone else." - Eat, Pray, Love 2010

      Membrane.

The word I used to hear or read many times in my studies especially in Pharmacology. Well, I'm sure you knew it from the Science subject we studied in high school right? Basically, membrane is a layer that separate two things. It can be permeable, semi permeable and non-permeable.

Let me just explain semi-permeable as it is in between. Semi means allowing something to pass through but not the rest. Or, it can let the rest enter but with few limits. :)

I tried to get this into my heart - to evaluate the meaning.

And I learnt that; not everything you can just let them pass through your body, your heart and your mind. I can say, I am more into trying to live as semi-permeable membrane. There are things I would not bother having it - love of Allah and my family, care from friends. knowledge etc. But, still there are other things that I'm battling within myself to avoid it - especially complicated relationship and having bad personality.

And also, I'm trying not to fully attach on someone or something where I can go astray when he / she / it leaves me. Or maybe I'm the one who need to leave them. They can be anything - friends, beloved stuffs etc. Of course, we need to take care of it. But, don't lose hope or get so frustrated or sad when we found out they are not in the original place anymore.

While, some things may harm ourselves - drug addiction, bad attitude. Just like how blood brain barrier prevent abusive or dangerous substances getting into our brain - that is how we protect ourselves from these things.

We are given brain to think and decide.
Choose wisely and take good care of our desire.

Human makes mistakes, so do you and I. Leave them and start a new life with lesson learned from the mistakes.

      :)

      Masjid Brno, Republik Czech

      February 19, 2016

      18/ In The Background

Sejarah Tanah Melayu pun saya dah pening nak hadam, apatah lagi sejarah Czech ni kan. Tapi, sebab dah duduk sini hampir 5 tahun, saya rasa saya perlu tahu serba sedikit.

Tapi saya belum nampak lagi timeline dia macam mana. Hoho -_-'

      bohemia, moravia, silesia

      Sejarah ringkas Masjid Brno.

"Everyone has a right to practice their faith," - Jiri Mikulasek, Brno's Roman Catholic general vicar.

Ouch. :p

Bukan setakat rejection dari orang-orang pentadbiran, tapi orang-orang yang duduk sekitar ni pun menentang. Siap buat petisyen, demonstrasi.

Satu-satunya tanda bangunan ni ialah masjid. :)

      ?? ??? ??? ???? ???? ???? ????

Walaupun takde kubah atau menara, seni binanya masih nampak nilai-nilai Islam kan? <3 Masa saya berjalan mencari masjid ni (sesat sekejap -_-'), memang terdetik di hati "rasanya itulah masjid" walaupun dari jauh. :)

Hehe

Memang tak dapat lari dari refleksi diri;-

Kenapalah diorang ni bersusah payah nak bina masjid, nak kena harung banyak cabaran pulak tu? Sedangkan boleh buat hal masing-masing je?

It is because of love to Allah and love to other Muslims T____T

      --------------------------------------------------

      Video Mapping

      February 12, 2016

      11/ A Wall

Look at this unbelievable video mapping :D

      Source - YouTube

Video mapping ni ialah aktiviti masa Signal Festival kat sini. So far, festival ni ada kat Prague dan beberapa bandar lain kalau tak silap (tapi takde kat Hradec Kralove sobss). And yeah, it is held annually.

Jadinya, saya cuma tunggu kawan-kawan Prague update Instagram diorang ataupun any videos on Facebook. Video mapping ni bukan sekadar ada kat satu bangunan je, but it will be on few buildings all over Prague!

So, in case you are coming to Prague this Autumn (October), you can experience this :)

      signal festival prague

      Shades of Pink

      February 11, 2016

      /10 Pink

      I am a pink-color lover. <3

Pink ni cantik kan, mesti la suka. Masa 1st year kat sini, ya Allah memang semua benda nak pink. Dengan first time nak beli winter coat / jacket, saya terbeli satu jaket ni, color pink. Boot pun color pink. Sebab tu boot kat bahagian kanak-kanak.

Tapi sekarang dah neutral dah. Mana-mana pun okay :)

How men and women see colours:
      Source - 9GAG

Kalau nak refer gambar atas ni, saya kategori yang belah lelaki tu. Noob sangat.

Throughout years living here, baru la saya belajar sikit-sikit beza colors ni.

Yang paling senang ingat ialah turquoise. T__T

Anyway, ni shades of pink yang saya jumpa online. :)

      Saya suka salmon pink. Korang?

      :)
