      When Strangers Are Like Family

      April 6, 2017

“There're times when strangers are like family, and family are like strangers” - Hlovate.

Well, I agree with the quote somehow, but alhamdulillah my family is not like strangers. At least between me and ayah mak abangngah. :)

Growing older, I realized I became clingy, not only to them but to people whom I started to have emotional attachments. But, I need to remind myself, they have their own life (I mean personal life that I should not interrupt), they still need to work anyway.

To be honest, somehow I like the ideas of Instastories as we can watch or see our friends' updates and I love all the mature changes of most people I know. :) People are moving on with many new responsibilities. This medium even connected me with my childhood friend that I have not been in touch for ages. Girl, insyAllah I will have your back if you need me. <3

      Hiking in Pravcicka Brana, Czech.

A weekend in March, I had the chance to spend at least two whole days with this beautiful family of Uncle Razali and Aunty Awa. Well, I called myself as a little Czech ambassador for Malaysians. Haha. Perasan. I knew Aunty Awa since early September I think, of course via blog and we keep in touch till now, insyAllah.

She was planning for her Europe trip and to my surprise Prav?ická brána was in her plan. :) So impressed to know that, I tried my best to help with guides. And another surprise, she invited me to join her family trip in Czech. T_T

Segan tu jangan katalah, dah kenapa nak masuk family trip orang lain kannn?. -_-'

I kept reminding myself, my intention was to make someone's journey in Czech smoother, well at least I believe in the saying of 'tetamu tu bawa rezeki'. Hehe. I've been living here for quite a while and even my study is covered by Malaysian taxes (although I'll have huge debt at the end of my study for at least ten to hundred thousands ringgit haha die die) so, I think of this as contribution to the people as well.

      Prague Castle, Czech.

At first, deep inside I was homesick.

Can you imagine, you met a family similar like yours and even the sequence of children is the same as your own siblings? 2 elder brothers (Ariff, Azmi) and the youngest is a daughter (Aliya). Even the eldest studied culinary just like my late abanglong did. :)

      Hard Rock Cafe, Prague.

I am thankful I met them, alhamdulillah.

Alhamdulillah, guiding them around was not a problem, I had experiences travelling with my parents for our Europe Trip last two years and those moments taught me a lot how to deal with parents aged 40's at least... well my parents were slightly above 50 when we traveled together. :)

Both of uncle and aunty are friendly and chill, they treat me like I am a part of the family. This reminds me of my parents as they love to treat other kids. Once upon a time when I was younger, I was jealous with those kids as well. :p HAHA.

Azmi (Adik), Uncle, Ariff, Aunty, Aliya, Me.

We were lucky to have the chance to climb this high as I've been told that the route was under renovation just a week earlier. Let me share with you the interesting facts of Pravcicka brana:
      • Pravcicka brana means Pravcice Sandstone Gate
      • It is the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe.
      • Chronicles of Narnia (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) was filmed here.
      • It was said that this area was a sea full of sea creatures and after million years, it transformed to what we can see today.

To Uncle & Aunty, thank you very much for those lovely days, it felt like home to me. :)

[PHOTOS] Hiking Day Trip Plan to Orlické hory, Czech

      October 20, 2016

I've been to Orlické hory maybe 2 times before for skiing, but... I think I am not into these winter sports. So, it has been a while since then.

Orlické hory means Eagle Mountain. It's quite famous for winter sports for Czech people around east side of Czech, other than ?pindler?v Mlyn (more snow, more famous, more people and more expensive). ;p

      Duta hiking Czech lantik sendiri.

As usual, it was a day trip. The plan that I will share here is more suitable to follow if you start your journey from Hradec Králové. I was expecting autumn trees but not every trees have change colors. Few areas, yes.

      Bus to Orlické hory.

My friend and I took a bus to Orlické hory, unfortunately there was no direct bus at that time. So, we changed to another bus in Dobru?ka. Your journey really depends on the schedule. Please check the timetable in idos.cz. It can be bus-bus, train-bus as well.

In our case, we took the bus from HK at 6.35am, to arrive in Orlicke hory at 8.19am

A point not to be missed here is, we stopped at the final station - De?tné v Orlickych horách, Zákoutí hot.Orlice as idos.cz, it only shows De?tné v Orlickych horách, Národní d?m

If you stop at Narodni dum, you need to walk for another 10-15 minutes to get to the starting point which is at Zakouti hot.Orlice.

      Hiking route that I used.

The hiking trails are like these
      https://mapy.cz/s/19ds2:

      1. Walk about 3.5km along green trail from bus station De?tné v Orlickych horách, Zákoutí hot.Orlice to ?erli?sky Mlyn.
      2. Walk another 1.5km along blue trail to ?erlich (you can step into Poland here :D)
      3. Then, walk along red trail for 3.5km toVelká De?tná - rozc., srub - you can stop at a small hut here for a cup of hot chocolate.
      4. Continue to green trail for 2.5km to Luisino údolí. The first 0.5km, you will reach the highest peak of this area which is Velká De?tná (1115m)
      5. Last one, blue trail for 2km to return to the bus station.

Total walking-hiking is 13km, that time we took about 5 hours for the whole journey in Orlické hory (including stop for a while for a drink and picturesssss). I expected to finish by 3pm, as I always add at least 2hours extra to any hiking trip. But, unexpectedly we finished quite early. We managed to take bus to HK at 1+pm.

      ---------------

      Okayyy, time for pictures!
      :D

I used mapy.cz on my phone to keep track my location. Offline map is very helpful, I don't have to use my data here.

Cottage :D This is how Czech's house in countryside. :)

      Green trail.

      Blue trail, I think.

?erlich Masarykova Chata - there's a hotel /hostel I'm not sure but this area is located close to the border of Czech and Poland.

      CZ/PL wohoooo, hello again Poland.

The markers for trails are different between Czech and Poland. In Czech, they usually show distance in km or m. But, Polish side use time in minutes or hours. Both have their own advantages, but I personally prefer distance.

I cannot see you Poland. T____T

In Poland, with background of Czech. :D

Found this guy on the road. Lintah bulan?

While having a cup of hot chocolate in a hut here. Hikers around Czech always bring a hiking diary where they can have stamps in it. The stamps look like this.

Continue walking to the highest point. 1115m.

      Yeay!

      What else to say... hijau?

Aaaaah, feel like I wanna build a small house here.

      And moreee green.

      Green everywhere.

I always wanna try to take pictures of waterfall. Look at the flowing water... Huuuuu. ^_^

Hiking down was a bit challenging with these rocks on the trail. T_T

Yeay, the end point is at the end of this road. Blue trail.

      Autumnnnnn :D

      Breathtaking.
From our start & end point (De?tné v Orlickych horách, Zákoutí hot.Orlice), we found out the next bus would be in one hour. So, we decided to cut off cost and not to waste time by walking to the next bus stop, De?tné v Orlickych horách, Národní d?m.

Luckily there was a direct bus to HK this time! Yeay, a good chance to take a nap. :D

An interesting building in front of the bus stop. Pelik.

      Okayyy, that's all. :D
      Till next hiking trip.

      [PHOTOS & VIDEO] Sně?ka, Czech :)

      September 28, 2016

I shared about day trip plan to Sně?ka, Czech on previous post. :) My third time here was at the end of summer 2016, so the weather was just nice, shiny yet windy. Alhamdulillah, my previous 2 trips here were during winter, you can simply imagine snows EVERYWHERE, with icy trails, winter boots, wet socks, white views

Okay, as I promised before, here are few other photos taken during the hiking trip.

      8th September 2016. Thursday.

Keep calm, enjoy and say subhanAllah :) :) :)
